FAQ

Can I use different source formats in one project?

Yes. Each file or section can have a different source format. The project format stays the same for the whole queue.

When should I use equirectangular?

Use it for full-sphere 360, especially for YouTube 360, VR players, and compatible headsets.

When should I use domemaster?

Use it for domes and fulldome. The exported file should be square.

Why do VR metadata not change the image?

Metadata tells the player how to interpret the file. It does not transform pixels. Transformation comes from project format, source, FOV, and reorientation.

Which codec should I choose?

Use H.264 or HEVC for compact delivery. Use ProRes for masters, archiving, and dome workflows. Use alpha-capable codecs only when the target supports transparency.

Can I check before the full render?

Yes. Use Test 10s and check the file in the destination player.

Why do some features require Pro?

Pro unlocks professional delivery features: high resolution, ProRes, HEVC 10-bit, alpha, extended batch, unlimited Syphon, fullscreen show, and commercial use.

Does VR Converter Studio change original files?

No. Source files stay on disk. The project saves references and settings; export creates new files.
